7. Act

istock actionMake realistic plans where you are capable of taking the steps to see them through.  Be committed to living a resilient life by integrating these seven resiliency components into your daily life.  Most importantly, take action, even if it is just to take the next small step.

Although ‘Act’ is the final step of the ‘Create Resilience’ process it may be acted on at any of the steps.  The important thing is to keep moving forward.  Motion has a life of its own, it is contagious and can propel you forward to leave your adversities in your dust!

A more formal process to follow for the ‘Create Resilience’  Act step is:

  1. Envision what you want for your life – a clear mental picture – write it down – this is your goal;
  2. Accept your reality of today – acknowledge its relationship to where you want to be;
  3. Create a framework for action – map the opportunities you uncovered going through the ‘Create Resilience’ process steps 2 thru 6 into your action framework;
  4. Identify gaps – accept them for now or create some new activities to fill them;
  5. Test the validity of your your opportunities, activities, actions against your vision to ensure they will achieve your goal and then test them against your values, skills, strengths and interests to ensure you are capable of them;
  6. Take training to learn new skills and/or interests;
  7. Trust your intuition – let go of controlling the outcome;
  8. Create a ‘Path’ with a series of actions to reach your goal – small and large;
  9. Commit to your end goal, integrate and practice the ‘Create Resilience’ process in your daily life and never, never, never give up on your dreams;
  10. Take a step, not necessarily the first step, take any step, but take a step and then celebrate your willingness to move forward;
  11. Learn from the experience of your action – modify your ‘Path’ as your wisdom increases and informs you;
  12. Repeat the above 11 steps often.

Learn to create SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Time-Based) goals incorporating solutions from your LIFE COACHING  sessions to achieve greater success with achieving your goals and eliminating your challenges.
